Destination #4: The Mad Greek

Today, February 20th, I ventured out to my fourth food truck stop, The Mad Greek, which specializes in Greek inspired platters and wraps. This is a food truck that I have been wanting to try for some time as I love Greek food, however the truck hasn’t been open on either a convenient day/time or location.  Although I found their location using the Street Food app, you can also find where they are each day via their website (click here).

The Mad Greek is proudly a Greek and family-owned food truck business which brings authentic, traditional Greek street food to communities across Vancouver and the Lower Mainland. I wasn’t sure how Greek street food varied from the Greek food I have had before from a restaurant, but I found it to be the same from a menu perspective.

They serve 100% halal meats and offer a wide range of options to accommodate all dietary needs, including vegetarian and vegan choices. I was surprised that they serve 100% halal meats and therefore decided to do some research on this and found out that due to the rising Muslim population in Greece that many Greek people encounter or eat halal food.

I ordered the Chicken Platter from their menu which included chicken pieces off of a skewer with tomatoes, onions, and feta that came with a side of pita bread, crispy fries (with amazing seasoning on top), and homemade tzatziki sauce. This meal had good flavour and was a good portion size for a food truck.

I would recommend checking them out! So far out of the four food trucks I have visited, this meal was the most flavourful. 😋
